Eligibility
Children (ages 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 years) are taken on a first come, first serve basis. One year old children should be walking. Children must be potty trained to be in the 3 & 4 year old classrooms. Children and grandchildren of members of First Presbyterian Church Humboldt will be given top priority.
Children and their parent(s) entering PDS must meet personally with the director before final acceptance to the program.
Parents will be required to fill out a PDS student application and pay a non-refundable application fee of $25 per child.

PART - TIME
Plan A-1: (M-W-F) 8:30 - 11:30
Plan B-1: (M-W-F) 8:30 - 3:30
Plan C-1: (M-W-F) 8:30 - 5:30
Plan A-2: (T-TH) 8:30 - 11:30
Plan B-2: (T-TH) 8:30 - 3:30
Plan C-2: (T-TH) 8:30 - 5:30
Only Full-Time, Three Day and Two-Day schedule options are available.
Deposit
A deposit equivalent to four weeks tuition must be made upon signing a contract for enrollment in school. The deposit will be applied against the first four-week tuition period and must be received on or before the first day of enrollment.
Discounts
10% - Second child in same program together, if both children attend full-time (5 days per week)
Pre-enrollment visit
All students are required to visit the school, meet their teacher and classmates and spend 15 minutes in their classroom prior to starting school. These visits will be scheduled by the Director and will occur the week prior to enrollment.
Parent Orientation
The Director will conduct an orientation with the parents. The parents will tour the school and visit the classroom. They will be given a copy of the TN Rules and Regulation and a parent handbook and sign off on both. They will also receive the monthly calendar, payment schedule, a medical release form, a contract, immunization form, parent influenza guide and a copy of the breakfast/lunch guidelines.
Curriculum
PDS uses “Creative Curriculum”, the standard curriculum used by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
Scholarships
Applications are available from the director at the beginning of the each term (August, January & May) for scholarships to PDS. Scholarship applications will be reviewed by the school board and will be granted based on need and availability of funds. All information on the application is completely confidential and will only be viewed by the PDS Director and Board Scholarship Committee.
Hours of Operation
PDS opens at 7:00 a.m. and close promptly at 5:30 p.m.
Holidays
School will be closed on the following designated holidays for the dates from August through July: Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday following, one full week at Christmas, New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Thursday and Friday of the Strawberry Festival week (first full week of May), Memorial Day, and July 4th.
General Health Rules
Each child must have proof of immunizations upon enrolling in the preschool. Children between 8 weeks and 30 months of age are required to have a health examination.
